This item is cylindrical and has a firm, elastic inside bag that is covered by a body and cap. The body of the capsule should be spotless, consistent in color and gloss, smooth in incision, free from distortion, and odorless. This product comes in three different varieties: translucent (with pigment but without titanium dioxide), opaque, and transparent (without pigment and titanium dioxide) (with titanium dioxide).
(1) Mix 50ml of water with 0.25g of this product, boil until dissolved, and let cool. To create an orange flocculent precipitate, take 5 ml of the solution and mix with a few drops of the potassium chromate test solution and diluted hydrochloric acid (4:1).
(2) To create turbidity, combine 1ml of the residual solution from identification (1) with 50ml of water, mix vigorously, and then add a few drops of the tannic acid test solution.
(3) Place about 0.3g of this substance in a test tube, add a small amount of sodium lime, and heat. The gas that is produced can cause moist red litmus paper to become blue.
