Stability of plant hollow capsules
The validity period of gelatin hollow capsules is generally about 18 months. When combined with the storage time before use, the shelf life of the capsules is shorter, which often directly affects the shelf life of the drug.
The expiration date of plant hollow capsules is generally 36 months, which significantly increases the expiration date of the product.
Botanical hollow capsules without residues such as preservatives
In the production of gelatin hollow capsules, in order to prevent the growth of microorganisms, preservatives such as methyl parahydroxybenzoate are added. If the amount added exceeds a certain range, the arsenic content may eventually be exceeded. At the same time, gelatin hollow capsules must be sterilized after production is completed. At present, almost all gelatin capsules are sterilized with ethylene oxide. After ethylene oxide sterilization, there will be residual chloroethanol in the capsules. Ethyl chloride residues are banned from being used abroad.
HPMC Vegetable capsules have lower heavy metals
According to national standards, the heavy metals in animal gelatin hollow capsules cannot exceed 50ppm, and most qualified gelatin capsules have heavy metals in the range of 40-50ppm.
The heavy metal content of plant capsules is much lower than the national standard of two parts per million. It can be seen that plant capsules are significantly better than animal gelatin capsules.
